Reptiles

So Wyatt had a pretty bad sunburn for awhile. Then it started to peel. Lonnie and I were picking on him about the peeling for a few days. Then I noticed he was getting kinda sensitive about it. When I talked to him about it, I found this out:

Wyatt learned about reptiles last year in school. When they grow to big they shed their skin. He spent two days thinking he was outgrowing his skin. I felt bad for him and explained it all to him. He is not so upset now.

Some days

There are days when I feel like a great mom. Days when I am funny and witty and have it all together. Days when lunch and dinner go so smoothly and everyone is happy and I feel like life is a sitcom. There are those days when I get all my work done, have time to play with the kids and still have dinner on the table and sit to down to enjoy a movie or something with the Hubby.
Those are just days when I feel like I totally know what I am doing and that I am doing it so well and I completely have it all together.

I love those days.

Today is not one of those days.
Today I have blown it more times than I can count. Today I have been short and snippy. All of my work is done and the kids rooms are clean, but I don't want to have to remember the words exchanged to get them that way. Even though I have recognized it and am attempting to correct it now, I still feel bad.
I truly think that one of God's most amazing gifts is that no matter how you blow it, as a mom your kids still think you are the best one there is. I love that about them. It challenges me to actually be the mom that they think I am. As I think of the memories I am creating for them, I am challenged to make sure they are good ones and not ones I will regret when they are big. So I have to actually think before I speak, kinda a stretch sometimes, but I try.

But as my dear friend Dr. Suess says "Today was good, today was fun, tomorrow is another one"

The baseball park

Wyatt being catcher

This is what the others kids do while the game is going on.

The Pool

Our big pool from last summer had leaks when I put it up this year. This s my answer. Now I can't get them out of the $17 pool.
Who knew?

Things I Love

- Every night at dinner and at bedtime and in every other prayer Tyler thanks God for rainbows.
- That my 3 older kids refer to each other as their best friend
- Tyler follows Wyatt and around and wants to do everything he is doing, and Wyatt wants him to follow and be with him.
- Whenever one of them is hurt and crying, everyone else is either singing, comforting or crying right along with them.
- The fact that Wyatt has learned how to change their movies to Spanish, so if you hear them singing something from Strawberry Shortcake that you can't quite make out, that's it.

- My neighbor, who at random times will call up and take 1,2, or even 3 of them for several hours. :)

Good news Bad news

The good news is that I totally suck at breaking into cars.
The bad news is that is exactly what I needed to do last night between about 11:45 and 1:15, as I locked Lonnie's keys in his car.
At first I said no biggie and went to get my set, only to find out that "my set" that the guy gave me don't go to the car sitting in my garage. We tried and tried, and to make it worse, the keys were right there on the seat mocking us.
Finally we gave up and went to bed, and called the very friendly lock smith first thing this morning. I didn't want Lonnie to have to take my van, since the ac is out and that would be a very uncomfortable ride home from work for him.

FYI, locksmiths only take cash.

Update

Ok, so after a week and a half, I don't really know where to start. My thoughts are kind of wondering, so this post will probably ramble.
So, Lonnie's trip went well. He stayed in a four star hotel and got to eat in some really nice restaurants. We missed him a lot, but the week went ok. '
Wyatt's baseball team has entered their post season. There team has won one game all season, but the kids have had a blast and learned a lot. So last night, we all figured it would be there last game. But no, the kids decided this was the game to turn it on, and they won. Scoring more runs than in any other game they played all season.
Rylee has swimmers ear. So she is really pleasant.
Tyler is pushing Rylee's buttons. He knows she doesn't feel well, so he is really enjoying picking at her and listening to her cry.
Dylon is adorable. He is getting a new tooth. He has also just started saying mama. And he is somewhere between a Marine crawl, and a real crawl. ( I am aware most people call it an Army crawl. That is simply not allowed in our house)
Oh blah dee, Oh blah da, Life goes on.

I have some very cool pictures to put up later.

Out of Commission

I will be out of commission for the rest of the week. Lonnie's wonderful new job that we totally love has sent him to Denver for the week. He took the laptop, so I can't do anything.

It will be a good week. and I won't have any excuse for not getting my stuff done.

Oh, and I am having a garage sale on Fri and Sat, anyone in the neighborhood feel free to stop by.
